so it's been 3 weeks and we are recovering so far, well this is what happened; A couple of weeks ago some computers started to have a problem when loging in to OWA (Outlook Web Access) , when something like that happens it seems that the PC is off time with the server...yeah , that's how we usually manage this issue but what happened was way off my hands.
After the issue of OWA , one computer in the 4th floor started to get pop up screens and SPAM, at that point i was gessing "well , maybe some sort of malware" , but it wasn't , someone was really using that computer for X purposes!! . when i checked the firewall , THE HORROR!!, a whole bunch of connections stablished and IP addresses , some of them from Russia, from Canada, from UK. my boss was really pissed beacause how can something like that happened in an enviroment with a proxy server and a firewall,a PIX firewall?
My only guess was that maybe someone inside downloaded something and when opening that file it got infected ....and that was exactly what happened but whatever it was , it was some really strong virus. I spend a whole day in my office cleaning up Servers with my co-workers and boss, i spend also a lot of time working remotely from my house!!.
to make this story short we managed to gain control of the servers except for one...the server where we host the antivirus. the password was somehow changed and that took us literally 5 days to get on track...im not gonna tell you how i did it but im going to tell you that i was hella difficult to do it!!. man.....my department really deserves at least 3 months of vacation, we have done a lot this year...from intranet, VoIP services, Web Services and Servers.....oh and my Voice Over acting is still on play....i have to go to NY this Saturday for another test, aparently the director do like my voice but he seems like he can't make a decision on wether hire me or not..let's see how this thing goes.

im not working weekends for the rest of this year so at least thats a good thing.
